In June-July, Whimsical Exhibits was appointed by a US agency to design and build the exhibition stand for Liftoff at the IGB Barcelona 2026 exhibition. The brief was clear and ambitious. The task was to design a unique and impactful stand in a small area while ensuring that the brand was prominent on the competitive exhibition floor.
IGB Barcelona is a fast-paced and high-energy exhibition where brands need to do more than just be seen. At Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the challenge was to turn a small area into an engaging space that reflected the dynamic brand of Liftoff while facilitating business conversations.
Challenges
The primary challenge was spatial limitation. Despite the limited space for the stand, the client had something unique in mind. Whimsical Exhibits created two different designs that would cater to the client’s needs. There were several changes that took place, and all details were considered, from optimising the layout to the positioning of the graphics.
Aside from the changes in the design, communication with the organiser of the event was a challenge. There were times when responses were delayed, and there was not much clarity on the technical approval. Despite this, Whimsical Exhibits made sure that all the requirements of the venue at Fira Barcelona Gran Via were followed.
Execution
Once the final concept was locked in, the production went smoothly. Our skilled fabrication team worked on precision engineering to ensure that every square meter was utilised efficiently. The stand design featured aggressive branding, lighting, and an open layout to maximise visibility and create a welcoming environment.
One of the major highlights was the inclusion of a basketball gaming machine, which introduced movement and energy to the booth. This engaging element generated considerable foot traffic and encouraged visitors to engage with the stand, which perfectly resonated with the lively brand personality of Liftoff.
