Custom 165 sqm Industrial Technology Booth for DTF Station at FESPA Barcelona 2026
Challenges
FESPA 2026 was a highly competitive exhibition. The show had featured over 500 exhibitors. DTF Station required a big stand that could effectively display heavy industrial machinery. The company also wanted to maintain a premium and open-plan feel.
Our primary challenge was balancing the industrial nature of the equipment, like large Prestige printers and powder shakers, with a minimalist and welcoming aesthetic for visitor engagement. The second challenge was that we had to design an exhibition stand to accommodate multiple sub-brands (Lopo and Color Prime) under a single cohesive identity while providing ample space for live demonstrations and private business meetings. Also, the layout had to manage complex technical requirements. One of such requirements was to conceal cable routing for various ink dispensing and heat-transfer systems, but the visitors’ path should not be cluttered.
Our Design Approach
- Design a 165 sqm Island/Peninsula booth with open access from multiple sides to maximize traffic flow.
- Incorporate a large square overhead hanging banner with turquoise, beige, and white striped graphics for 360-degree brand visibility across the hall.
- Adopt a minimalist color palette of white, black, and light grey, accented by brand-specific tones like sky blue and soft gold.
- Create a technology-focused layout that balanced machinery display zones with multiple premium meeting areas.
- Utilize full-height modular wall panels with hidden storage cabinets to maintain a clean, professional look.
- Install a large LED television screen on a central feature wall for digital presentations and live product demonstrations.
- Integrate a dedicated product display wall with recessed niches and warm spotlighting to showcase sample garments and printed textiles.
Execution
Whimsical Exhibits provided end-to-end turnkey solutions. We leveraged our 15+ years of experience in the Barcelona exhibition circuit.
The structure featured MDF wall panels with a matte white laminate finish, decorated with subtle grey geometric patterns and large-format graphics featuring slogans like “Precision Color Technology”. The overhead banner was constructed from printed stretch fabric over an aluminum truss framework. It was a stable yet visually striking branding element.
The flooring consisted of light grey commercial-grade carpet. It also had specific black carpet borders that were defining the machinery zones. These carpet borders were creating a clear visual distinction between operation and engagement areas. All technical cabling was cleverly routed beneath the floor to ensure a trip-free environment.
The equipment display showcased some of DTF Station’s flagship technologies, like industrial Prestige DTF printers, Seismo powder-shaker units, Prisma heat-transfer systems, and more. Custom black stretch fabric covers were used to protect the machinery when it wasn’t in use. This was to keep the booth looking sleek.
The booth was equipped with high-end furniture for networking. White leatherette bar stools with chrome pedestals and height adjustable backs. Quilted cushioned chairs. The reception area featured a custom built black-and-white finished rectangular counter. And the counter was well marked with “INFORMATION” signage to guide visitors.
Client Feedback
The final booth successfully represented the innovation and user-centricity of DTF Station. The combination of high-bay hall lighting and integrated linear LED strips created a bright and inviting atmosphere. It highlighted the machinery’s matte finishes.
The client highly appreciated the smart use of space. This way their professionals were able to conduct live technical demonstrations. Also, they simultaneously hosted private meetings with global distributors. The high-impact branding and open layout were instrumental in driving attendee engagement. This made the DTF Station booth a standout destination at FESPA Barcelona 2026.
